Sligo County Council Announcement

Sligo County Council wishes to give notice that due to a review of its current Arts Plan, the Sligo International Chamber Music Festival will not take place in 2023.  Following an independent expert review, Sligo County Council will continue to programme exceptional music performances in future.

30th April - 2nd May 2022

We are delighted to announce that the 2022 Sligo International Chamber Festival will be taking place this year.

Treat yourself to a weekend of exquisite music this May bank holiday as the Sligo International Chamber Music Festival returns with some of the finest Irish and international musicians to perform with the acclaimed ensemble-in-residence, the Vogler Quartet.

Taking place on the May Bank Holiday Weekend, from Saturday 30th April to Monday May 2nd, in the intimate surrounds of St. Columba's Church Drumcliffe, nestled below Benbulben Mountain, and The Model, a contemporary arts centre in Sligo town, the Sligo International Chamber Music Festival has long been a highlight in the annual calendar of music events in Ireland.

Alongside the Vogler Quartet, this year's festival boasts an exciting line-up of Irish and international guest artists including Finghin Collins (piano) Noam Greenberg (piano) Fionnuala Moynihan (piano); Dermot Dunne (accordion); Vashti Hunter (cello); Jonian Ilias Kadesha (violin) and Malachy Robinson (double bass).

There's something for everyone from music lovers and enthusiasts to the novice and the curious!

"It was a concert that appealed to the heart, the mind and the funny bone, delivering everything we can ask of chamber music."
